Reliv Strengthens LunaRich Patent

Press Release | 8/20/2015

CHESTERFIELD, MO, Aug 18, 2015 -- Reliv International, Inc., a maker of nutritional supplements that promote optimal health, today announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has issued an expanded patent for LunaRich, Reliv's exclusive nutritional ingredient. The updated patent further protects LunaRich technology as it relates to the soy peptide lunasin's mechanism of action for lowering LDL cholesterol levels.

Lunasin is a naturally occurring peptide scientists have identified as the key to many of soy's documented health benefits. LunaRich optimizes bioactive lunasin more than any other source available today.

"Novel ingredients like LunaRich that boast a spectrum of nutritional technologies often require continual patent updates," said Dr. Carl W. Hastings, Reliv vice chairman and chief scientific officer. "Reliv is committed to securing the strongest patent portfolio possible for this remarkable nutritional ingredient."

Reliv also holds a composition of matter patent related to LunaRich's superior ability to deliver bioactive lunasin to the body. Nine Reliv products have also been issued patents, with three of those having since reached the 20-year limit and expired.

"Protecting an asset like LunaRich is a process," said Ryan Montgomery, Reliv president. "We expect to receive continued enhancements to current patents, and we have additional unique patents pending. LunaRich puts Reliv and our products on a higher level in the industry, and we want to guarantee that the only place consumers can purchase LunaRich is through independent Reliv distributors."

Reliv Foundation Donates to Typhoon Relief

Press Release | 12/9/2013

Chesterfield, MO -- December 09, 2013 -- The Reliv Kalogris Foundation (RKF) today announced that it has donated $576,000 in nutritional products and $25,000 in cash to support Typhoon Haiyan relief efforts in the Philippines. Cash donations were provided by Reliv distributors through a special fundraising campaign in November.

“We have a special connection to the Philippines,” said Reliv Kalogris Foundation Chairman Scott Montgomery. “Not only is it one of Reliv’s 15 countries of operation, it is also home to 100+ Reliv Kalogris Foundation feeding programs that provide quality nutrition to thousands of needy children every day. Both the Foundation and our distributor field felt compelled to provide assistance any way we could in response to this tragedy.”

The RKF shipped 1,500 cases of Reliv Now® for Kids, Reliv’s daily nutritional supplement for optimal children’s health, to affected areas following the typhoon. Half of that nutritional aid has already been distributed.

Cash donations are being used to provide clean drinking water and reusable cups to prepare and distribute Reliv nutrition shakes at various evacuation centers. Resources are also being directed toward mosquito nets, building supplies and food packs to families in areas hardest hit. The RKF has once again partnered with international relief agencies, as it did following the 2010 Haiti earthquake, to facilitate distribution of support and reach a larger number of people.

“Many Reliv distributors have been directly affected by this tragedy, and we are reaching out to them as we support general relief efforts,” Montgomery said. “I am especially proud of our staff and distributor field in the Philippines who have stepped up in the face of serious challenges to aid in the recovery firsthand. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the people of the Philippines.”

Reliv Releases Results of Study on Lunasin

Press Release | 9/21/2013

Chesterfield, MO September 19, 2013 -- Reliv International, Inc., a maker of nutritional supplements that promote optimal health, today released the results of a promising new study. In the University of Missouri study, pigs supplemented daily with Reliv Now® and LunaRich X™ for eight weeks showed significant improvement in key biomarkers associated with cardiovascular and metabolic health.

Reliv Now is a daily nutritional supplement that delivers an array of protein, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants while optimizing bioactive lunasin content. LunaRich X is the most concentrated form of bioactive lunasin available today. Lunasin is a naturally occurring peptide researchers have identified as the key to soy’s documented health benefits, from cholesterol reduction to general cellular health. In July 2013 Reliv International acquired exclusive rights to the lunasin used in these products.

“While this was a small animal study and only a preliminary step in demonstrating the efficacy of this supplement regimen, the dramatic results are remarkable,” said Dr. Alfredo Galvez, lead scientific advisor of SL Technology Inc, a Reliv subsidiary. “Most exciting of all is that there currently exist no effective treatments for improving key biomarkers measured in the study, namely circulating free fatty acids and the hormones leptin and adiponectin.”

Reliv International Receives 9th US Patent

Press Release | 7/29/2013

July 29, 2013 -- Reliv International, Inc., a maker of nutritional supplements that promote optimal health, this week announced that healthy energy shot 24K(TM) has earned a patent from the US government. Dr. Carl W. Hastings, Reliv’s chief scientific officer and creator of 24K, made the announcement as part of opening night at Reliv’s 25th Anniversary International Conference.

“This patent validates the work our R&D team put into making 24K unlike any other energy product on the market,” Hastings said. “24K provides a healthy alternative to the high-caffeine, high-sugar energy shots that have become so prevalent in recent years. And with 24K, you not only get energy, but nutritional support for mental focus and stress relief as well.”

The patent for 24K comes two years after the product was first introduced and was named the People’s Choice for Favorite New Consumer Product by the American Business Awards.

Energy drinks have surged in popularity in recent years, and health advocates have expressed concern about the excessive amounts of caffeine found in most of these products. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration continues to investigate reports of illness, injury and even death of people who drank products marketed as “energy drinks” or “energy shots.” In June, the American Medical Association adopted a policy supporting a ban of the marketing of high stimulant/caffeine drinks to adolescents under the age of 18.

“Most popular energy products rely on caffeine and sugar to provide a quick jolt,” Hastings said. “But this can cause an unhealthy spike in heart rate and blood sugar, leading to an inevitable crash. Such stimulants only mask the symptoms of fatigue. 24K provides a healthy solution by addressing the underlying problem — the fatigue cycle.”

Physical fatigue and mental fog go hand-in-hand, and stress is a leading contributor to both. Together they make up the “fatigue cycle.” 24K delivers 24 active ingredients backed by clinical research to address all three factors. View healthy energy shot 24K’s ingredient list.

24K becomes the ninth Reliv nutritional formula to earn a US patent, joining Reliv Classic(R) for essential daily nutrition, Innergize!(R) for isotonic hydration, FibRestore(R) for digestive health, Cellebrate(R) for weight loss, Arthaffect(R) for joint health, ReversAge(R) for anti-aging, GlucAffect(R) for blood sugar management and ProVantage(R) for performance nutrition. Note: the patents for Reliv Classic and Innergize! have expired.

Reliv International Acquires Exclusive Rights to Lunasin

Press Release | 7/24/2013

Deal Positions Reliv as Industry Leader in Emerging Field of Nutritional Epigenetics

CHESTERFIELD, Jul 24, 2013 --Reliv International, Inc., a maker of nutritional supplements that promote optimal health, today announced that it has entered into an exclusive license for the intellectual property of Soy Labs LLC related to the nutritional ingredient lunasin. Lunasin is a naturally occurring peptide research has identified as the key to many of soy's documented health benefits, from cholesterol reduction to general cellular health.

The license covers an issued patent and several patent applications related to lunasin and soy-related peptides, proprietary information and manufacturing processes of Soy Labs. Further, the arrangement allows certain Soy Labs employees to join the Reliv corporate staff. The License Agreement is for a term covering the entire period of the basic patent and then provides for a full assignment of all of the technology rights to Reliv. Reliv will make minimum payments of 1,150,000 initially and additional minimum payments over a five year period totaling 850,000. In addition, Reliv will pay a royalty at varying rates over the term of the agreement.

"This is a major step for Reliv and elevates our company to a unique status in the nutrition industry," said Ryan Montgomery, Reliv president. "For the first time we own an ingredient in its entirety, from the extraction process to the patented mechanisms of action within the body. And lunasin isn't just any ingredient; it's the world's first epigenetic superfood."

"We've always endeavored to remain on the cutting edge of nutrition science in formulating our products at Reliv. And with the acquisition of lunasin, we are now leading the industry in the budding field of nutritional epigenetics," said Dr. Carl W. Hastings, vice chairman and chief scientific officer.

"New research shows that through nutrition people can influence which genes are expressed," he added. "Reliv is committed to building on this emerging science and developing nutritional solutions that help people take control of their health."

Reliv's license of the intellectual property behind Soy Labs lunasin production and marketing stems from a joint research and development partnership formed in August 2011 among Reliv, Soy Labs and the Missouri Plant Science Center. That partnership resulted in the creation of LunaRich(R) soy powder and LunaRich X(TM), Reliv-exclusive products made from non-GMO soybean varieties with the highest concentration of bioactive lunasin and manufactured through a proprietary mechanical process (vs. chemical) that maintains the lunasin's bioactivity.

Reliv Conference to Include Special Science Segment

Press Release | 6/28/2013

CHESTERFIELD, MO, June 28, 2013 -- Reliv International today announced that the company’s 25th anniversary conference in Orlando on July 18-20 will include a presentation on nutritional epigenetics and the science behind the soy peptide lunasin. Presenters will include Dr. Carl Hastings, Reliv chief scientific officer, and Dr. Alfredo Galvez, research scientist at the Center of Excellence in Nutritional Genomics at UC Davis and lead scientific advisor at the Missouri Plant Science Center (MPSC).

Hastings will discuss the importance of the joint biotechnology and development partnership between Reliv and the MPSC, the achievements of this partnership to date and its potential for further innovations in nutrition science.

Galvez will present the latest lunasin research, describe the emergence of epigenetics as a new frontier in our understanding of human health and discuss the potential applications for nutritional epigenetics in the future of health care.

Lunasin and Epigenetics

Epigenetics is the study of changes in gene expression in cells caused by mechanisms other than changes in DNA. The epigenome, which literally means “beyond the genome,” is a higher level of complexity in the cell that determines which genes are used, when they are used and how much they are used. The epigenome is the reason why different types of cells — eye cells, skin cells, liver cells — can have the same DNA but perform vastly different functions.

Lunasin is the first nutritional compound identified to promote optimal cellular health through an epigenetic mechanism of action. Lunasin attaches itself to the epigenome in the cell to increase expression of important genes needed for normal cell functioning and protect the cells from environmental damage once it occurs. Learn more about lunasin and epigenetics.

LunaRich from Reliv

LunaRich® is a nutritional ingredient available in Reliv products that optimizes bioactive lunasin. LunaRich is made from non-GMO soybean varieties with the highest concentration of lunasin and manufactured through a proprietary mechanical process (vs. chemical) that maintains the lunasin’s bioactivity.

“No other company is advancing the field of nutritional epigenetics like Reliv,” said Galvez. “We are in the middle of a revolution in nutrition and we are all witnesses.”

Reliv International Named a Top Workplace

Press Release | 6/26/2012

CHESTERFIELD, Mo., June 25, 2012 -- Reliv International, Inc. today announced that the St. Louis Post-Dispatch has named Reliv one of St. Louis's Top Workplaces. The Top Workplaces program recognizes companies whose working environment allows them to outperform peers.

Top Workplaces was created by Workplace Dynamics in 2006. The program is based on one simple philosophy: The most successful companies are the ones that employees believe in. Such companies are considered "organizationally healthy."

Organizational health stems from three primary factors:

Direction: Employees have emotionally bought into what the organization is striving to achieve.

Execution: The company has a high performance culture.

Connection: Employees feel they are appreciated and doing something meaningful.

Top Workplaces evaluates companies on these three factors based on a 25-question employee survey. Survey results placed Reliv among the top companies in the St. Louis area.

"The fact that we didn't even nominate ourselves, that employees nominated Reliv on their own accord, speaks volumes as to just how much our staff believes in what we do," said R. Scott Montgomery, Reliv executive vice president and chief operating officer. "Reliv's mission is to Nourish Our World. We want to help people lead healthier, happier lives, and that's a goal everyone can rally around."

Reliv Announces Breakthrough in Fight Against Metabolic Syndrome

Press Release | 6/3/2012

CHESTERFIELD, Mo., June 2, 2012 -- Reliv International has incorporated a breakthrough ingredient into its patented, clinically proven GlucAffect® formula.

The addition of LunaRich comes less than a month after the CDC published findings from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey indicating metabolic syndrome continues to rise among Americans.

Fighting an Epidemic Metabolic syndrome — a cluster of symptoms including high blood sugar, obesity and cardiovascular problems — has reached epidemic proportions. According to the American Heart Association, 47 million Americans now have metabolic syndrome. The syndrome afflicts 40 percent of people in their sixties and seventies. That number is expected to rise along with our aging population. The CDC also predicts that one-third of Americans will have diabetes if current trends continue.

In addition, a recent CDC study published in Pediatrics shows the epidemic isn't limited to older adults. Obesity in teens has skyrocketed in the past decade — 23 percent of teens are now classified as diabetic or prediabetic.

A person with metabolic syndrome is twice as likely to develop heart disease and five times more likely to develop diabetes. Other silent symptoms include eye, kidney and nervous system damage over time. Metabolic syndrome typically includes three or more symptoms:

waistline of 40+ inches for men or 35+ inches for women high blood pressure, or on blood pressure medication high triglycerides high blood sugar or type 2 diabetes low levels of HDL (good) cholesterol Balancing Blood Sugar The solution for metabolic syndrome lies in a three-pronged approach of balancing blood sugar, losing weight and improving cholesterol.

Blood sugar management and weight loss go hand-in-hand. Blood sugar levels can effect hunger feelings and energy levels. When blood sugar and insulin levels drop too low, we feel hungry. Weight loss is easier if blood sugar is continuously balanced.

Research shows that cutting-edge ingredients such as Pycnogenol®, banaba leaf and cinnamon have significant blood sugar management properties.

"GlucAffect's unique formula addresses multiple factors of metabolic syndrome at once," said Dr. Carl Hastings, chief scientific officer. "And the increased levels of lunasin in LunaRich soy powder have given GlucAffect an even greater edge in the fight against metabolic syndrome."

Beating Cholesterol at the Source Most cholesterol is produced in the liver by the HMG-CoA reductase gene. Statin drugs work by blocking HMG-CoA, but they can often block too much. This leads to serious side effects because our body needs a minimum level of cholesterol for proper cellular function.

On the other hand, a naturally occurring soy peptide called lunasin targets cholesterol at an earlier stage, reducing the HMG-CoA without blocking it entirely. LunaRich soy powder harnesses the power of the lunasin peptide to balance cholesterol.

"A growing body of research shows that the lunasin peptide is one of the most important bioactive components of soy," said Dr. Alfredo Galvez, the scientist who first discovered lunasin. "Lunasin demonstrates superior support for cardiovascular health and exhibits significant anti-inflammatory properties. In developing LunaRich for Reliv, we have maximized lunasin levels in soy."

"Leading the way is LunaRich soy powder, the first Reliv-exclusive nutritional ingredient. LunaRich was created through Reliv's research and development partnership with the Missouri Plant Science Center. It delivers five to ten times more lunasin than standard soy powders.

Reliv Adds Breakthrough Ingredient to Supplement for Kids

Press Release | 4/17/2012

CHESTERFIELD, Mo., April 16, 2012 -- Reliv International, Inc. announced that it has added LunaRich™ soy powder to Reliv Now for Kids® children's nutritional supplement.

LunaRich is a Reliv-exclusive whole soy powder containing five to ten times more lunasin than the industry standard. Lunasin is a peptide found naturally in soy that scientists have identified as the key to many of soy's documented health benefits.

Lunasin's effectiveness stems from its ability to promote optimal cell health. Studies show that lunasin provides a second line of defense against cellular damage when the body's initial defenses fall short. This occurs on multiple levels:

Nourishment. Lunasin provides the nutritional fuel to promote optimal expression of genes required for normal cell function.

Protection. Lunasin reduces inflammation and cell damage caused by free radicals and other environmental hazards. It protects in two ways:

•Prevention. Activates the expression of genes that help reduce cell damage and prevents the expression of genes that can cause cell damage. •Maintenance. Helps remove damaged cells from the body that may cause chronic health problems. Learn how LunaRich promotes healthy growth and development in children.

Nutrition experts have long recognized soy as an ideal source of low-calorie protein for a child's diet. Soy also contains many other nutrients essential for healthy growth and development. Studies of children who consume soy demonstrate this superfood's ability to ease constipation, lower high cholesterol, promote overall wellness and decrease risk of chronic diseases later in life. LunaRich maximizes those benefits.

"Consuming LunaRich at an early age while the body is developing can optimize lunasin's many benefits and lead to long-term, lasting benefits into adulthood," said Dr. Alfredo Galvez, the research scientist who first discovered lunasin in 1996. "LunaRich works like a guardian angel to protect children's cells."

In addition to LunaRich, Reliv Now for Kids also delivers an array of vitamins, minerals, and micronutrients not found in most children's supplements.

"We developed Reliv Now for Kids as a way for parents to fill nutritional gaps — to ensure their children are getting the nutrients they need to thrive," explains Dr. Carl Hastings, Reliv's chief scientific officer. "With LunaRich, we've added a breakthrough approach to overall wellness you can't get anywhere else. More than ever, Reliv Now for Kids stands as the premier children's nutritional supplement."

Reliv Now for Kids is the third Reliv product to feature LunaRich soy powder. Reliv added LunaRich to Reliv Now®, a daily essential nutrition formula, and SoySentials®, a women's protective supplement, earlier this year. LunaRich is the first product to come out of the joint biotechnology research and development partnership that Reliv, Soy Labs, LLC and the Missouri Plant Science Center formed in August 2011. Reliv Now, Reliv Now for Kids, SoySentials and LunaRich are available exclusively through independent Reliv distributors.

LunaRich is a Reliv-exclusive whole soy powder containing five to ten times more lunasin than the industry standard. Learn how LunaRich helps control cholesterol production in the liver, the source of over 80% of the body's cholesterol.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death of American women, killing more than a third of them. Heart attacks kill 200,000 women each year -- five times more than breast cancer. Despite these staggering statistics, women are less likely than men to receive appropriate treatment after a heart attack and only make up 27% of participants in all heart-related research studies.

SoySentials from Reliv is a nutritional supplement specially designed for women. SoySentials combines soy protein, antioxidants, probiotics and herbs for a multi-faceted nutritional approach to women's health. Ingredients have been shown to promote bone health, support the immune system and ease the symptoms of menopause and PMS, among other benefits.

Learn how SoySentials supports overall health in women.

"A common myth persists that heart disease is a mostly male health problem, but the facts tell a different story," said Dr. Carl W. Hastings, Reliv's chief scientific officer. "By adding LunaRich to our SoySentials formula, we are giving women a proven nutritional approach to managing cholesterol and improving heart health. And with the other benefits that SoySentials provides, it's an ideal supplement for overall women's health."

SoySentials is the second Reliv product to feature LunaRich soy powder. Reliv added LunaRich to Reliv Now®, a daily essential nutrition formula, earlier this year. Reliv Earns Patent for GlucAffect

Press Release | 2/21/2012

CHESTERFIELD, Mo., Feb. 21, 2012 - Reliv International announced that GlucAffect®, Reliv's blood sugar management supplement, has earned a patent from the US government.Dr. Carl W. Hastings, Reliv's chief scientific officer and creator of GlucAffect, made the announcement as part of opening night at Reliv's 2012 National Conference.

"Earning this patent validates the work our R&D team put into making GlucAffect a superior nutritional approach to blood sugar management," Hastings said. "GlucAffect addresses one of today's biggest health problems - metabolic syndrome - like no other product available. Most importantly, it works."

In an eight-week, placebo-controlled clinical study of 50 overweight individuals with elevated blood glucose levels, test subjects taking GlucAffect lowered their fasting blood glucose by an average of 30%, moving from elevated glucose levels to healthy blood sugar values. In addition, those individuals taking GlucAffect lost an average of nearly 16 pounds during the eight-week period. No significant glucose lowering or weight loss was found in the control group.

Elevated blood glucose levels and being overweight are key factors in metabolic syndrome, which dramatically increases the likelihood of developing diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and stroke. According to the American Heart Association, metabolic syndrome affects about 35 percent of American adults.

"Metabolic syndrome is a serious, emerging health concern among the medical community, and physicians are more frequently looking to nutrition science to complement traditional care and prescriptive remedies," Dr. Hastings said. "We see the GlucAffect study results and the success stories of GlucAffect consumers as validation of nutrition's important role."

One of GlucAffect's main active ingredients, Pycnogenol®, is an antioxidant clinically shown to help lower high blood glucose levels and provide other health benefits. Additional key ingredients in GlucAffect include omega-3 fish oils, Madeglucyl™, Glucohelp®, SilbinolÒ and cinnamon, among others.

Reliv International Releases 24K Energy Shot

Press Release | 2/8/2011

Reliv International Cracks Fatigue Cycle with Healthy Energy Shot

Reliv 24K delivers healthy energy and mental focus, relieves stress

CHESTERFIELD, Mo., Feb. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Consumers who are fighting the fatigue cycle -- physical fatigue, mental fog and stress -- now have a new means of breaking that cycle.

Reliv 24K, a new nutritional supplement, is the first shot to provide healthy energy and greater mental focus while also reducing stress. Reliv International, Inc., a creator of nutritional supplements that promote optimal health, introduced the product last weekend in Atlanta.

"Reliv 24K is the first product created specifically to address the entire fatigue cycle," said Dr. Carl W. Hastings, chief scientific officer and vice chairman of Reliv. "Physical fatigue and mental fog go hand-in-hand, and stress is a leading contributor to both. 24K addresses all three factors by boosting energy, enhancing mental focus and reducing stress," he said.

Most energy shots on the market today rely on caffeine to provide a quick jolt. But those shots can cause jitters and an unhealthy spike in heart rate. Consumers of 24K won't face those issues. Rather than masking symptoms with stimulants, 24K's comprehensive formula provides the fuel for healthy, natural energy.

The new product represents two important firsts for Reliv: 24K is Reliv's first bottled, ready-to-drink supplement and the company's first energy shot.

The product's name comes from its 24 active ingredients, including omega-3 fatty acids, resveratrol, B vitamins and others that provide energy, mental clarity and stress relief. Hastings and his team of nutritional scientists at Reliv carefully selected ingredients to work together synergistically based on clinical research.

The suggested one-ounce serving size contains only five calories and no caffeine. The product will be sold in the United States initially, but Reliv eventually plans to market it in international markets.

Reliv introduced 24K at its U.S. national conference held in Atlanta Feb. 3-5. Independent Reliv distributors convened to attend training workshops designed to help them build their businesses, receive recognition and take part in motivational activities.

The launch of 24K was the highlight of the conference. The new product comes in a 28-ounce plastic bottle, equal to a four-week supply at the suggested one-ounce serving size, and in double shot-sized, two-ounce bottles for on-the-go convenience.

Reliv Urges Families to Record Family Health History

Press Release | 11/11/2010

Reliv International Urges Families to Create a Family Health Portrait This Thanksgiving

Holiday Gatherings Provide Opportunity to Record Family Health History

CHESTERFIELD, MO, Nov 08, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Every year since 2004, the Surgeon General has declared Thanksgiving to be National Family History Day -- a time for American families to gather, talk about and write down the health problems that seem to run in their family. This year, Reliv International, Inc. is urging Americans to make the Surgeon General's declaration a part of their holiday tradition by creating a Family Health Portrait.

A Family Health Portrait traces the illnesses suffered by your parents, grandparents and other blood relatives. It can help your doctor predict the disorders for which you may be at risk so you can take the necessary action to keep yourself and your family healthy. The Web-based tool helps users organize family history information and then print it out for presentation to their family doctor. In addition, the tool helps users save their family history information to their own computer and even share family history information with other family members.

"At Reliv, we believe that optimal nutrition is beneficial to everyone," said Dr. Carl Hastings, chief scientific officer of Reliv International. "Our products provide balanced nutrition for a healthier lifestyle and overall wellbeing. Learning about the specific health challenges you may face through building your Family Health Portrait is another way you may help ensure a longer, healthier future."

Health care professionals have known for a long time that many health issues such as elevated blood sugar, obesity and high cholesterol can run in families. If one generation of a family has high blood sugar, it is not unusual for the next generation to have similarly high blood sugar. An up-to-date Family Health Portrait can be a powerful screening tool for your doctor, focusing medical attention first on the most likely areas of concern.

"A lot of different things go into maintaining a healthy lifestyle," said Hastings. "Eating right, regular exercise, getting enough sleep. Creating a Family Health Portrait is another way to be proactive about your health, just as taking nutritional supplements can help ensure you are getting enough vitamins and nutrients for optimum health."

In 2002, the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) began advising all adults to take multivitamins to help prevent such common chronic illnesses as cancer, heart disease and osteoporosis. "Most people do not consume an optimal amount of all vitamins by diet alone. It appears prudent for all adults to take vitamin supplements," according to the statement in JAMA.

How are you staying healthy? Reliv invites you to share the steps you are taking to stay healthy on the Reliv Facebook fan page. And, follow Reliv on Twitter to learn the facts about how optimal nutrition can help you live a healthy, active lifestyle.

Reliv Revenue Decline Not a Result of Economy

Npros.com | 5/5/2010

Reliv International's current sales decline was the topic of consideration analyst Barel Karsan in a recent article on Benzinga.

"The determination of whether a firm's decline in revenues is temporary is part art and part science.

Consider Reliv (RELV), producer and marketer of nutritional supplements and skin care products. The company blamed its poor performance in both 2009 and 2008 on the economic crisis, but further study indicates that the company had problems way before then."

Reliv Announces New Partnership

NPI Center | 4/24/2007

MINNEAPOLIS – April 24, 2007 – Humanetics Corporation & Reliv International recently announced their new partnership with the launch of the Slimplicity™ Weight Loss System, which includes 7-Keto® to increase metabolism and burn fat. The Slimplicity™ Weight Loss System includes Slimplicity™ Accelerator capsules, a combo product with appetite suppressant, fat burner/blocker and metabolism booster ingredients and Slimplicity™ Meal Replacement, a nutritionally balanced meal replacement shake.

7-Keto (3-acetyl-7-oxo dehydroepiandrosterone) is a naturally occurring substance produced by the body in the adrenal glands and its production declines with age. It is a non-stimulant, thermogenic agent that is clinically proven to increase metabolism and promote healthy weight loss. 7-Keto works naturally with the body to enhance the activity of three thermogenic enzymes – Glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase, Malic Enzyme & Fatty Acyl CoA Oxidase. The up-regulation of these three key fat burning, thermogenic enzymes results in a higher metabolic rate and clinical studies have shown that administration of 7-Keto increases metabolism by 5.4%, promotes weight loss without stimulants and produces 3 times more weight loss than diet & exercise alone. Two independently conducted clinical trials support the effectiveness of 7-Keto for weight loss. Both trials were double-blinded and placebo-controlled, and have been published in peer-reviewed journals.

A recent study in the Annals of Internal Medicine reported that 90% of men and 70% of women will eventually become overweight. And globally, the World Health Organization predicts that by 2015, there will be more than 1.5 billion overweight consumers, incurring health costs beyond $117 billion per year in the US economy alone.

“Weight loss and weight management continue to be a huge health concern and social issue for American consumers,” says Dr. Carl Hastings, Vice Chairman of the Board and Chief Scientific Officer, Reliv International. “In fact, Americans’ weight concerns are causing serious problems to the present and future health of this country and because of this, Reliv has made a commitment to developing high quality, scientifically-supported products that will effectively address this need. Our scientists have integrated the latest nutrition research into products that are scientifically advanced, nutritionally complete and synergistically balanced to optimize potency and effectiveness,” says Hastings. “And formulating with quality, scientifically-proven ingredients like 7-Keto only furthers our commitment to offering consumers the best products available.”

“Reliv International is a strong partner for us and it’s exciting to work with a progressive company that can take 7-Keto in new directions,” says Scott Steil, VP of Sales & Marketing, Humanetics Corporation. “Working with companies like Reliv, that use solid science to drive their product development process, ultimately provides consumers with a safe, efficacious product that will help them achieve their goals. This gives Humanetics an excellent opportunity to showcase the metabolism-boosting, fat-burning properties of 7-Keto in a breakthrough formula like the Slimplicity Accelerator,” says Steil.
