Kay Napier has served as the chief executive officer of Arbonne International ─ a privately held skin care and cosmetics company ─ since August 2009.

Ms. Napier currently serves on the board of directors of Hill Rom Holdings, Inc., a worldwide manufacturer and provider of medical technologies and related services for the health care industry. She also serves on the board of directors of Exact Sciences, a molecular diagnostics company.

Together, the four entities will operate collectively as the Arbonne Charitable Foundation and will work to drive support for programs that build positive self-esteem for teens.

The Seasource Detox Spa Foaming Sea Salt Scrub products affected by this voluntary recall are ONLY from the following lot number (with shipping dates ranging from March 28, 2008 to July 15, 2009): Z928

This voluntary recall was initiated by Arbonne as a result of discovering the presence of Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria in the recalled lot. No other lots are affected. The organism Pseudomonas aeruginosa may cause dermatitis, soft tissue infections, bacteremia, and a variety of system infections, particularly with users who are immunosuppressed. Because the Foaming Sea Salt Scrub is used to exfoliate the skin’s surface, there is a possibility that inadvertent introduction of the tainted product directly into any skin abrasions could result in infection.

Arbonne International, LLC announced Wednesday that it has laid off 95 employees at its distribution facility in the Precedent South Business Center.

The Irvine-Calif.-based company, which manufactures and distributes Swiss-formulated skin care, makeup and nutritional products, also announced it will reduce shifts from two to one. The bulk of the layoffs -- 49 -- were warehouse associates.

Laid-off employees will receive benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, through Feb. 28.

A maker of skin-care products plans to bring 300 new jobs to central Indiana when it opens its second U-S distribution center this summer.

California-based Arbonne International is building the center off Interstate 65 in Greenwood, about ten miles south of Indianapolis.

The company says the work force could reach 600 over the next several years.

The company will receive a 112-thousand-dollar grant to train employees and one (m) million dollars in tax credits for capital investments and employment from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation.
