Passion Parties Donates 40k To Charity

Press Release | 12/13/2010

In 2010, The Passion Parties Charitable Foundation (PPCF) donated more than $40,000 to North American charities supporting women and children including: the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Southern California & Nevada Chapter, The Southern Nevada Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada Alberta & Northwest Territories Division, The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation - Prairies/NWT Region, and regional Autism foundations. Passion Parties is North America's premiere party-plan company specializing in sensual products.

"Passion Parties' charitable donations are an extension of our commitment to improving the lives of women and their families," said Pat Davis, the president and chief executive officer of Passion Parties International. "The Passion Parties Charitable Foundation was established in January 2007 as a way for Passion Parties and its Passion Consultants™ to make a positive impact on the lives of others. We gladly gave more than $40,000 in 2010 to help families fight breast cancer, multiple sclerosis, and autism."

"The Southern Nevada Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is honored to receive a $10,000 contribution from Passion Parties," said Stephanie Kirby, Executive Director. Passion Parties Fights Breast Cancer

Press Release | 10/5/2010

32-year-old Sandra Fuentes was nursing her newborn, when she felt a lump in her breast. The wife and mother of three was terrified. In 2002, her mother had lost her battle with the deadly disease, and two of her aunts had already been diagnosed. When Fuentes realized that she had breast cancer, she knew she was in for the fight of her life. After a radical mastectomy, six months of chemotherapy, radiation, a hysterectomy, and breast reconstruction surgery, Fuentes is finally cancer-free. Now, she wants to empower all women with prevention. Fuentes is using her work as a Passion Parties Consultant as a platform to educate women about breast health.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Passion Parties is honored to support Fuentes and other breast cancer survivors by offering Pink Passion Parties. A portion of these party proceeds will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation for research. Passion Parties are in-home parties for women, where trained sales Consultants showcase fun, romance products, while providing health information and sex tips. In addition to giving passion pointers, Fuentes uses her parties to champion breast cancer awareness.

"One of my major goals in life is to change the face of breast cancer," Fuentes said. "Young women are lulled into a belief that it can't happen to them, but a lot of them were in treatment with me. That's why every woman should be aware of her breast health, and be her own wellness advocate. I'm glad to be working with Passion Parties, which supports research to help women, and I'm telling all of my customers to book a Pink Passion Party to join our efforts."

In addition to donating proceeds from pink-themed parties, Passion Parties will also offer a FREE "Women & Breast Health Guide" with the purchase of the Passion for Pink Rose adult toy. The company will also donate $5 from the sales of this bullet vibrator to the Susan G. Komen Foundation and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

"Our mission at Passion Parties is to empower women to improve their lives," said Passion Parties President and Chief Executive Officer Pat Davis. "Our ongoing commitment to breast cancer prevention is one example of this. In 2007, we established the Passion Parties Charitable Foundation to benefit non-profits that help women and their families, including the Susan G. Komen Foundation and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation."

To further the company's philanthropic contributions, the Passion Parties Charitable Foundation also receives proceeds from the sales of the "Passion Parties Guide to Great Sex," which is written by Davis and published by Random House. (www.passionparties.com/guide.html) Davis continued, "With Pink Parties, our customers can have a great time, and get wonderful passion tips to use with their partners, and fight breast cancer. We are proud to do our part to assist the Susan G. Komen Foundation, the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, and women affected by this horrible disease."

Fuentes added, "During my struggle, Passion Parties was there for me in so many different ways. My sales team was like a family - always encouraging me. And with the company's direct sales business model, I scheduled my own hours and worked as much, or as little as I wanted. That made a huge difference when I was sick from my chemotherapy treatments. Now, I'm cancer-free, with a family and a career that I love. I help women have better relationships with their partners, and I educate them about breast cancer health. I'm truly blessed."

Passion Parties Penetrates The Sex and the City 2 Premiere

Npros.com | 5/27/2010

On Thursday, May 27, the city of Seattle will be enjoying the premiere of Sex and the City 2 at Lincoln Square Cinemas, which will be hosted by The Chat with Women Network, alongside Passion Parties, a company founded in 1994, dedicated to selling lingerie, toys, and various other adult oriented products. Along with the film debut, the premiere will boast a pre-party at Palomino Restaurant; VIP swag bags filled with Passion Parties merchandise, and a "Sex and the City" look-alike contest.

Passion Parties draws the presence of over a million attendees each year nationwide, whom consider the gatherings as "the ultimate girls' night in.". Women get to enjoy the social setting filled with friends, colleagues and acquaintances while a trained Passion Parties consultant showcases the company's line of sensual products. Women enjoy trading secrets, tips, and other ideas with girlfriends throughout the event which generally only allows women to attend. Everyone involved may sample some of the more basic products that can be viewed, touched, or tasted before they decide to make a purchase. One phase of the gathering allows attendees to ask one on one questions regarding intimacy, product use and any other related personal questions with a consultant.

Passion Parties President Pat Davis stated; "Passion Parties is a perfect partner for the local 'Sex and the City 2' premiere. Like Passion Parties, 'Sex and the City' has created a whole new generation of sexually empowered women. The show gave women permission to talk about sex and enjoy it. Who can forget Charlotte's infamous Rabbit?" she added.

"Now, women of every age, ethnicity and background have goody drawers. It may contain a playful feather tickler, a cherry-flavored lubricant, or maybe something that's battery charged, like the Rabbit – but there's usually something in there to spice things up with her partner.". Having had a product shown during an episode of the show, sales drastically increased, firmly positioning it as one of the company's top 5 sellers.

With the unemployment rate climbing, more people are turning to home-based, direct-selling businesses as a way to make money.

"Quite a few people I've taken on have come on board because of the economy. Either because their husband has lost his position or their hours are being cut back," says Sarah Smith, a consultant and director for Pampered Chef, which sells kitchen products. In recent months, Pampered Chef has seen a 19 per cent increase in consultants joining the company. Cosmetic company Avon has experienced an 11 per cent increase in new representatives in the first quarter of 2009, compared to the same time last year.

Passion Parties, a supplier of sensual products, has seen a 40 per cent increase in the last year in the number of consultants deciding to sell its products.

On another site, Craigslist, people can make sales or find work in a wide variety of areas. One local farmer is trying to sell goats. Another wants to hire you to milk cows.

Janell Driscoll is using the site to make money after she lost her job selling building supplies in January.

By day, she works at trying to clean houses. By night, this wife and mother of three sells products at Passion Parties.

"It's just a great way to spice up your love life, and it's a great way to have a really fun girls' night in," says Driscoll.

Passion Parties are like Tupperware parties but for adult toys and other products for the bedroom. She started doing it for fun.

"Now, I hope to do it a lot more for extra cash because I am actively seeking employment, but haven't found anything yet," says Driscoll.

With her commission, she makes about $200 for the average party. This month, she has four parties scheduled.

"It does pay little bills here and there, or it gets the kids clothes for school," says Driscoll.

Passion Parties in the Las Vegas Weekly

Npros.com | 4/26/2009

Passion Parties is one of the largest companies of its type in the country, and its headquarters are located right here in Las Vegas. Last month it hosted a large convention at the Hilton (yeah, you missed out) and this month marks the company’s 15th anniversary. For women like Mason, working as a Passion Parties consultant full or part-time has become a lucrative and fulfilling career.

Mason claims that consultants can make an annual salary of $75,000 to $400,000. While the parties are free to guests, the consultants earn a 40 percent commission from every product they sell.

A former Nordstrom’s employee, Mason met Passion Parties founder Pat Davis at the store where Davis was a frequent customer. Through her, Mason learned about the company and decided to join the team.

“If I could sell furs, I could sell sex toys,” Mason reasoned. After switching jobs, Mason shed over 200 pounds and enjoyed a corresponding influx of self-esteem. “I want to go out there and share my experiences and help girls feel good about themselves and enhance their relationships.”

For 18-year-old Liz, the hostess of tonight’s party and the woman whose apartment we are all invading, the incentive is more mercenary. Liz is trying to earn enough money to attend Pima Medical School’s veterinarian technology program, and her current job, as a spa attendant at a hotel, doesn’t pay enough.

“This is the perfect thing,” Liz says of the Passion Party, although she isn’t a fan of the toys. “I don’t own a single one. I prefer the old-fashioned way.”

Thankfully for Mason, Liz is in the minority.

Denise Richards Hosts Passion Party on Reality TV

Earthtimes | 6/19/2008

Actress and former model, Denise Richards, hosted her first "Passion Party" with her sister and friends on the reality show. Pat Davis, president of Passion Parties and author of the Random House best-selling book, "The Passion Parties Guide to Great Sex," conducted the party while showcasing the company's signature body products and passion essentials.

"Who would have thought this is what I needed...to get me out of my rut?" Denise Richards asked.

"A Passion Party is just what every woman needs to have fun with her girlfriends and discover her inner Passion Diva. Denise was very receptive to the party, toys and education. A lot of times, single mothers tend to get bogged down with the daily routine of being a mother, forgetting about themselves and their own needs. Denise is just like every other woman with children," said Pat Davis. "She's just trying to be the best mother, daughter and woman she can be."

Sales representative Aubri Webb stood before a group of 10 women relaxing in a living room in Oxnard. Behind her, next to the television, Webb had set up a display of adult toys, oils, fragrances and other sexual enhancement products.

"If anyone has a cell phone," Webb said, "I do recommend you put it to — "

"Vibrate!" several replied spontaneously, giggling.

The women were at a Passion Party, which is kind of like a Tupperware party that has nothing to do with burping lids. Passion Parties are in-home, women-only get-togethers in which sales representatives like Webb explain and display a number of gadgets, potions, lotions, oils and other items designed to increase sexual pleasure.

Federal Appeals Court Overturns Sex Party Ban

KLTV | 2/22/2008

An appeals court has overturned a Texas statute outlawing sex toy sales.

The ruling by the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans leaves Alabama as the state with the strictest ban on such devices.

Tuesday's ruling says the Texas law making it illegal to sell or promote obscene devices -- violates the 14th Amendment on the right to privacy.

Companies that own Dreamer's and Le Rouge Boutique, which sell the devices in Austin, and retailer Adam & Eve, sued in in 2004 in Austin.

They appealed after a judge dismissed the suit.

Sex toy parties enjoy boom as taboos fall away and women shop with friends 4 days ago

CALGARY - The red wine was flowing, the talk was all about sex and the debate raged over whether a man could be replaced by a vibrating device. A nice night at a sex toy party.

Jo - Ann Archer has been conducting these events for seven years for Passion Parties, a U.S. - based chain that specializes in "romantic products." Her business card includes the subtitle "Where Every Day is Valentine's Day."

"I tell people I do home parties for adult women and couples and I sell products that will enhance their love life," said Archer as she prepared to give her spiel to 16 women at a house party just northwest of Calgary. "And it depends who I am talking to - I might even tell them that I sell sex toys."

Passion Parties in the News

South Asian Women's Forum | 8/5/2007

MAKUHARI, Japan (AFP) - The predominantly male crowd, perusing shelf upon shelf of gadgets, fetish DVDs and costumes, would have been even more nervous had they noticed that a few of the booths aimed to increase sexual pleasure for -- not with -- women.

Japan has a major sex toy industry, estimated to be worth some four trillion yen (34 billion dollars) a year, but female customers are a neglected market.

Not so at last weekend's three-day Adult Treasure Expo 2007, where women visitors had their pick of brightly coloured vibrators, accessories and other sex aids.

"Compared with 11 years ago, the situation for girls has improved greatly," says Minori Kitahara, 36, a feminist activist who is trying to change things in her own small way.

She runs LovePieceClub, a sex toy shop for women in Tokyo.

At a home in Ventura, California, about a dozen women are having a Passion Party. It's kind of like a Tupperware party. They play games and sample products while a representative talks them through a whole line of intimacy items.

[ "This is our soy seduction massage candle. . ." ]

Passion Parties' business is growing 40 percent a year. CEO Pat Davis credits a lot of that success to making women comfortable.

PAT DAVIS: My goal was to really address mainstream, and to make the products, the marketing the catalogues, everything we did, appeal for every woman, so that she didn't feel intimidated.

Company selling sex products brings women together behind closed doors The women are dressed casually, mostly in jeans and T-shirts. As they munch on chips and sip mimosas from champagne flutes, they chat about their children, their jobs and the places they went to the night before for drinks. From first glance, this appears to be a simple gathering of friends for a Sunday brunch in Schodack. But look a little closer. There's a table in the living room topped with lotions, lingerie and a red satin heart-shaped pillow. When asked their names, the women would rather not say. They don't want their children to know they went there. One mentions she lied to her mother-in-law, saying she was at a Tupperware party.

Passion sells, and ladies are buying

Jane Pipes had a bunch of girlfriends over for a party one night this month, and it wasn't long before the conversation got around to sex.

For more than an hour, the women snicker, they giggle, they guffaw. They blush. They make sophomoric jokes and ask questions that reveal their naivete.

Then they get out their checkbooks and credit cards, and go on a sensual spending spree.

With her pleasantly raspy voice, her all-American, Midwestern accent and her look-'em-in-the-eyes-and-call-'em-by-name technique, Shannon Bannerman could sell vacuum cleaners or term life insurance.

Instead, she sells sexual aids.

Last year, Bannerman says, her team sold $1.28 million worth of the products through home parties based on the model used since the 1950s to sell plastic containers for leftovers.
