Tahitian Noni Announces Most Successful Product Launch in Company History

Press Release | 3/8/2012

PROVO, Utah, Mar 08, 2012 -- Tahitian Noni International (TNI) just announced its most successful product launch in company history--even more successful than the launch of original Tahitian Noni Juice in 1996. There is a worldwide demand for real, scientifically validated, bioactive solutions to today's health concerns. This new bioactive beverage seems to have fueled that demand.

Next month, TNI will begin shipping a new bioactive beverage--one that will change the industry. It contains more iridoids than any other product on the market--with double the iridoids of Extra, and quadruple the iridoids of TNI's Original Bioactive Beverage. John Wadsworth, president of TNI, stated, "If we knew in 1996 what we know now, we would have launched the company with this as our flagship product."

The anticipation has been palpable. Independent product consultants (IPCs) on every continent recognize the unique nature of this new product, and they're scrambling to get their hands on it as soon as possible. In February, TNI made this new product available for pre-order and the order lines were swamped. After just one week of pre-sales (even though the product name has not yet been released), IPCs have made this the most successful product launch in company history.

The significance of that fact cannot be overstated. In the United States, they sold out of the 2,000 promotional pre-orders in less than half a day. In Japan, the order lines were backed up for hours. In Russia, and parts of Europe, the sales staff had to work overtime to meet the needs of the customers in that area.

This new bioactive beverage will be available in April during ILC 2012. It's the first time in company history that it will be launching a product globally, in over 30 countries--all at the same time.

Press Release | 1/7/2012

PROVO, Utah, Jan 07, 2012 -- Tahitian Noni International (TNI), the worldwide leader in the sales of noni products, and bioactive beverages, announced in a Global Kickoff Event that they will be accelerating the pace of innovation and greatly expanding their business focus in 2012. To better align with that innovation, and to help launch a new bioactives industry, Tahitian Noni International will be changing their name at the International Leadership Conference in April in Salt Lake City. The new name of the company in the US will be Morinda, with the tagline, Bioactives.

"From the earliest days of the company, we've been more than just a noni company," stated John Wadsworth, president of Tahitian Noni International. "Noni is a bioactives powerhouse, with 14 unique iridoids that offer an astonishing range of health benefits. We couldn't have picked a more powerful medicinal plant to build a company around. We've always been a bioactives company. The new name stays true to our noni roots (since Morinda citrifolia is the scientific name for noni), while broad enough to capture the new bioactives vision. The name Morinda symbolizes everything that this company represents--past, present, and future."

The company is positioning itself to take advantage of greater opportunities, to solve even bigger problems in the market, and in so doing, to expand the opportunities for their Independent Product Consultants. The bioactive platform will include bioactive products from multiple sources, not just noni. "It is all part of a strategic effort to better achieve our original vision, mission, and goals--to enable us to transform more lives than ever before," continued Wadsworth. "What is changing is the scope of our mission, as well as our ability to affect lives--thus allowing us to reach larger markets in a credible way."

John Wadsworth concluded by saying, "We are committed to building a company that will last for generations. Our scientific research has allowed us to expand our vision, and helps us to evolve and innovate. This commitment allows us to embrace new discoveries and is what's leading us to change our company name to better reflect and encompass who we are."

Tahitian Noni International Gives Back to the Community

Press Release | 12/8/2011

PROVO, Utah, Dec 08, 2011 -- Tahitian Noni International's (TNI) sales and service department has been recognized as one of the best--qualifying as a finalist for the American Business "Stevie" awards. But they do so much more than just answer the phone. For the third year in a row, they have donated food items to the Community Action Service and Food Bank in Provo, which offers local food bank services for Utah, Wasatch, and Summit counties.

Because of the agents' generosity, they were able to increase the amount collected for donations this year by nearly 40%. Through the team lunches, penny wars, and many individual donations, our team was able to make a significant contribution to Community Action which will help dozens of families have food during the holidays.

Here are a few highlights from their efforts:

-- 3,600 items donated in total - all of the items were on the most needed items list the food bank provided

-- 14 large turkeys were donated

-- 2,947 pounds of food was donated (up from the 2,500 pounds they donated last year)

-- The food will feed approximately 30 families for a week

"My favorite comment from the food bank came from Jim Thomas, the Food Bank Manager," Says Craig Coyler, Managing Director of the Sales and Service department. "He looked in our truck with excitement and said 'You guys are amazing!' One of the things that most impressed the directors of Community Action was that our donation did not come from a corporation - it came from individuals. It is truly an honor and privilege to be a part of this Sales & Service team and to come together each year to do something good and noble for those of our community who stand in need.

"Working at TNI is more than clocking in and clocking out. We make a difference!"

To raise funds, the department participated in "penny wars." This challenge was to see which team could donate the most money from just coin donations. They also had team lunches and many individual donations.

After considering Tahitian Noni's impressive 15-year history and its current focus on science and bioactives, the Obtainer Media Group said, "Therefore it is only logical that this year's Obtainer Worldwide Direct Selling Award in the category of 'Best PR / Marketing Strategy' goes to TNI.

"The marketing of noni juice by Tahitian Noni International can absolutely be regarded as a revolution in the food industry," Obtainer wrote. As an example, the enormous potential of bioactive substances is made clear in the TNI Defy, Age Intervention System, which can produce incredible, immediate, and perceptible results."

Tahitian Noni Increases Meat Shelf Life

Press Release | 11/28/2010

Morinda Agricultural Products, Inc. (a wholly owned subsidiary of Morinda Holdings, Inc., and a sister company to Tahitian Noni International) announced that they have applied for a joint patent with the University of Arkansas Department of Animal Sciences to use noni puree as a food ingredient. The patent application stems from a recent study conducted at the University of Arkansas showing that noni puree added to ground beef decreases rapid brown discoloration, thereby extending the shelf-life of the meat.

Although the meat industry has tried to raise awareness to consumers that slightly discolored meat is still okay to consume, research has shown that when meat has at least 30 percent or more of discoloration, consumers are less likely to purchase it. As a result, millions of dollars in profit are lost each year by retail stores. When just 5 percent noni is added to the ground beef, the antioxidant properties of the noni fruit act to inhibit the oxidation process in the meat, and thereby allow it to remain red for a longer period of time.

“The discovery that Tahitian noni puree helps to keep ground beef looking fresher for longer periods of time is an amazing discovery,” stated Bryant Wadsworth, Managing Director, Morinda Agricultural Products. “We are extremely grateful to have been able to work with the University of Arkansas to not only further the scientific research on the benefits of the noni fruit, but to discover an all-natural, healthy solution that will literally save retail stores millions of dollars each year–savings that can also be passed on to the consumer.”

The noni puree used in the study was from Tahiti, where it grows plentifully–and is the number one agricultural export of French Polynesia. It is all-natural, organic, and safe–and has recently been found to contain 12 specific iridoids. Iridoids are dynamic compounds that provide a wide range of bioactivity in humans. They have been studied by scientists for over 50 years and have been linked to over two dozen real health benefits–thus making noni one of the healthiest fruits available.

Tahitian Noni International Receives Global Quality and Research Awards

Press Release | 9/15/2010

PROVO, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Global Quality Foundation announced that Tahitian Noni International (TNI) Mexico is this year’s winner of two Excelsis Awards – one for excellence in product quality, and the other for research and development. The Global Quality Foundation is a multifaceted organization that searches for improvements in quality processes, products and services that satisfy the needs of the current global society. The research team has also discovered two completely new phytochemical compounds that are only found in noni. Brett West, director of research and development, stated, “We are grateful to be honored by such a prestigious organization for our research on noni. We are committed to unlocking the secrets of this amazing fruit.”

Carlos Aguilera, Latin American manager for TNI, accepted the Excelsis award for quality, saying, “We are grateful to become a part of the international network of companies that have now been recognized with this significant award.”

Tahitian Noni Announces New Industry

Press Release | 5/21/2010

Tahitian Noni International (TNI) has announced the creation of a new industry in bioactive beverages. Armed with 14 human clinical studies, company leaders have realized that noni is more than just a juice-and they are using that information to set themselves apart from the crowded superfruit industry that they originally created.

Noni is packed with bioactives — such as vitamins, minerals, and electrolytes — that produce biological activity in the body. The key bioactives in noni are iridoids, which have been closely studied for more than 50 years and have been linked to over two dozen real health benefits. Iridoids have been scientifically proven to eliminate harmful free radicals, maintain healthy HDL cholesterol at existing healthy levels, increase energy, promote heart health, boost the immune system, support DNA, and support healthy brain activity. They are also adaptogenic, which means they can adapt to an environment to safely benefit the health and function of biological systems.

"Our understanding of what our products do — including the importance of bioactives and the impact of iridoids — has changed the way we look at ourselves," said John Wadsworth, president of Tahitian Noni. "We've discovered that noni is superior in every way. It is more than a superfruit, more than a juice. And now we have the science to prove it."

"Just like we created the superfruit industry back in 1996, we will now create a new industry category of bioactive beverages. Beverages that provide proven health benefits through human clinical trials. Beverages with specific benefits that can be measured, quantified, studied, and reproduced. Tahitian Noni International created the superfruit industry – we will now create a new industry of bioactive beverages."

Rollerbladers Trek Across Country On Tahitian Noni

Press Release | 5/19/2010

Dan Bowen and Steven Feigenbaum might look like two ordinary guys, and they will even tell you that's all they are, but they just completed an extraordinary journey. On April 24th, the duo walked into the Pacific Ocean after nearly 3 months of rollerblading across the United States. With such a grueling task, they admit that it might never have happened without their daily dose of Tahitian Noni® Bioactives™.

The trek was more than just an excuse to see the country and to be able to say they did it. Dan's mother died of Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and Steven's aunt passed away from Huntington's disease. To remember their loved ones, they wanted to do something different, and so they decided to rollerblade from coast to coast and raise money and awareness for the cure of these diseases. They created the non-profit organization In Motion for a Million and their goal was to get at least one million people to donate $1 or more.

"There were times that were really, really difficult, and mother nature threw a lot of curve balls at us," said Dan Bowen. "We had some really interesting terrain that we had to go over, but I never wanted to give up, and I knew that it was for a greater good, and it's worth it to be here."

At the start of the trek in St. Augustine, Florida, the pair began drinking Tahitian Noni® Original™ donated by Tahitain Noni International to help them with energy and their recovery time. About halfway through the trek, TNI announced a new product, Tahitian Noni® Extra™, and made sure the endurance rollerbladers had it. Dan and Steven could feel the difference with the added iridoids in Extra™. They felt like they had even more energy and faster recovery times, helping them to complete the long journey.

Although Dan and Steven have finished their trek, they still want to do more. "The fight doesn't stop here," said Dan. "We are doing it to get rid of these diseases."

Tahitian Noni Accepts Third EU Novel Foods Approval

Npros.com | 5/3/2010

Last week, Tahitian Noni received its third European Union Novel Food approval for the puree and concentrate forms of the fruit. The company, which produces and distributes beverages, beauty, and weight loss products already received approval for its noni juice and its noni leaves under the bloc’s Novel Foods regulation.

In 1997 Europe introduced its Novel Foods regulation which requires any food or ingredient not typically consumed in the EU prior to May 1997 to undergo safety assessment before it can be sold across the EU's 27-member bloc.

The lengthy process is not popular and has been heavily criticized by the industry for stalling innovation, however the European Commission has indicated that it will eventually be streamlined. It took Tahitian Noni over four years to complete from its original application it filed with the EU authorities in 2006.

The first approval for Tahitian Noni juice opened up a completely new market for both Tahitian Noni and its competitors. “This has been a long process but in the meantime the company has strengthened its position in the market with its flagship noni beverage products,” said a spokeswoman for Noni; Whom also indicated the company covered all its food categories relevant for noni products to maintain a sustainable and competitive business with the EU's third approval.

Noni concentrate and puree can now be used as a result of this approval, allowing the company to produce confectionery, powdered nutritional drink mixes, soda, ice cream, bread, deserts, cereals, icings, sauces, and condiments. According to Noni's spokesperson, several clinical studies provided beneficial effects of the fruit on the immune and cardiovascular systems, and demonstrated its cholesterol-lowering potential.

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA)’s Panel on Dietetic Products, Nutrition and Allergies (NDA) found no safety issues with the Morinda citrifolia noni fruit puree and concentrate.

“Whilst the fruit is known to have a strong antioxidant activity, as well as the leaves, the seeds are high in linoleic acid." Said Noni's spokesperson.

There have been adverse effects reported with the consumption of noni juice, however the available data is not sufficient to establish a causal relationship between consuming noni juice, and hepatoxicity.

Tahitian Noni Press Release

Press Release | 4/29/2010

Tahitian Noni International (TNI) received the company's third Novel Food approval from the European Commission on Food Safety. Now, not only do noni juice and noni leaf have Novel Food approval, but also noni concentrates and noni puree have authorization to be sold within the European Union. In terms of the total number of Novel Food approvals, Tahitian Noni International shares an equal number with Danone and is outnumbered only by the five individual approvals granted to the Unilever Group.

Committed to Science and Quality from Day One

Approval procedures for Novel Foods take time, money, and require significant scientific research assuring the safety of the product in question. It is not uncommon for an application to take five years or more being reviewed, before approval is granted.

Kevin Asay, Tahitian Noni International's Managing Director in charge of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance, says: "14 years after the founding of our company, we are in a position to compete with Danone in the category of approved Novel Food applications. We take pride in this achievement and are confident that it stems from our commitment to science and quality from day one."

Noni is now a Full-Fledged Novel Food

With this third approval, Tahitian Noni International now holds Novel Food approval for all food categories relevant to their wide variety of products. In 2003, the first approval was issued for the use of noni juice as a novel food ingredient in Tahitian Noni(TM) Original, then marketed as Tahitian Noni(TM) Juice in Europe. This approval was followed in 2008 by the authorization of noni leaves as a novel food ingredient for the preparation of other products, including tea. This latest approval now gives Tahitian Noni International the ability to use noni concentrates and noni puree in products as well.

Currently, Tahitian Noni International is focused on the worldwide product launch of its new product line of Tahitian Noni(R) Bioactive Beverages(TM) introduced in the USA at the end of February 2010. A graduated launch in Europe is scheduled to start at the end of May 2010.

Tahitian Noni Extra Topples Sales Expectations

Npros.com | 4/27/2010

According to Tahitian Noni International, sales of Tahitian Noni® Extra™ have gone beyond expectations and has even provided a challenge to fill all of the product requests for the new bioactive beverage. At 60 mg of iridoids per 60 ml serving, the company's new product provides 16 different iridoids including a blend of noni, blueberry, and olive iridoids that boosts energy and endurance, supports joint health, aids recovery, promotes heart health, enhances the immune system, and helps protect against oxidative stress.

Noni's main ingredients contain bioactive compounds that contain a vast range of potential health benefits via a combination of 16 different iridoids, which unlike flavonoids or carotenoids in many other“superfruit” juices; are stable against the effects of heat and time as they have been shown to retain their potency and bioactivity long after processing, pasteurization, and storage.

“This new bioactive beverage could possibly be the healthiest drink on earth,” stated Jeff Wasden, vice president of Global Marketing for Tahitian Noni International.

Tahitian Noni Extends Superfruit Challenge

Npros.com | 4/22/2010

Tahitian Noni has extended its Superfruit $250,000 challenge until June 1, 2010. The challenge requires any company to prove their products have any of the ingredients found in Tahitian Noni that impart the following qualities to users:

Tahitian Noni founder Kelly Olsen is very confident that no one else in the world of network marketing will come close to the Tahitian Noni ingredients and quality factors. The juice drink contains over 150 bioactive compounds, and 12 unique iridoids that are reported to benefit the human body when taken regularly according to dosage directions.

Tahitian Noni Announces Discovery

Press Release | 4/21/2010

Tahitian Noni International announced that two new phytochemicals have now been identified in noni fruit from Tahiti that were previously unknown to the world. In a peer-reviewed study published by the prestigious Journal of Natural Products, TNI's Research and Development team of Shixin Deng, Afa Palu, Brett West, Chen Su, and Bing Nan Zhou reported that two completely new compounds, as well as seven other known compounds isolated in the study, exhibited good anti-inflammatory effects. Besides the two new compounds, three of the seven known compounds were isolated for the first time in the noni fruit.

Noni fruit from Tahiti is the basis for Tahitian Noni Bioactive Beverages™, the world-wide leader in bioactive beverages. "For years, people have been drinking Tahitian Noni® Original for its healthful benefits," stated Brett West, director of Noni Benefits Research. "We are now beginning to isolate the specific compounds within the juice that are responsible for those benefits. We have also isolated two new compounds that are not found anywhere else in the world." The two new compounds identified have been given the names Tahitianin A and Tahitianin B by their discoverers.

With the largest noni research center in the world, Tahitian Noni International is committed to investigating, isolating, and documenting the benefits of the noni fruit from Tahiti. There are over 150 bioactive compounds that have now been isolated in the noni fruit, including 12 unique iridoids. Iridoids have been studied by scientists for over 50 years and have been linked to over two dozen real health benefits. The 14 human clinical studies have proven the efficacy of Tahitian Noni bioactive beverages.

Tahitian Noni International Introduces Quad

Npros.com | 4/19/2010

Tahitian Noni International has introduced its new Quad packaging which has been enthusiastically accepted by Tahitian Noni Independent Product Consultants (IPCs) since it is constructed from recycled material and emits less carbon during the manufacturing, distribution, and disposal process. The 4 liter dispenser is more recyclable than glass, and demonstrates a solid waste reduction of up to 95% in comparison to glass-based packaging.

In volume, the Quad also delivers the best bioactive beverage value available, because it has the advantage of being lighter to ship, which generates cost savings that are passed directly on to the IPCs.

"The new Tahitian Noni 4-liter Quad is one of the most unique ideas to hit network marketing in years. We are sure that others will try to copy our innovative new packaging, but what they will never be able to duplicate are the actual health benefits and research behind our bioactive beverages." stated Jeff Wasden, vice president of Global Marketing for Tahitian Noni International.

Clinical Studies Validate Effectiveness Of Tahitian Noni Bioactive Beverages

Npros.com | 4/9/2010

A series of 14 clinical studies have been produced by Tahitian Noni International (TNI) that prove the effectiveness of their bio active beverages. There have been more clinical studies provided by TNI than any other network marketing superfruit company and they already maintain 52 scientifically-validated patents, a research facility and scientists on staff that have produced over 35 peer-reviewed publications.

Noni's scientific approach to business and advertising is a major foundation for the company's success, as well as Noni's status as a world class adaptogen, containing bioactives from a validated medicinal plant.

Jeff Wasden, TNI's new vice president of Global Marketing stated: "What makes Noni really unique is its phytochemical makeup. The most celebrated nutrients in food plants are flavonoids and carotenoids. These nutrients have great potential when eaten fresh, but when they undergo processing and pasteurization, they degrade rapidly and fail to deliver their promised benefits."

Wasden indicated that Noni is much different. "The 12 different iridoids in Noni retain their potency after processing because the iridoid bonds don't crack under pressure. They stand up to extremes. That means that, unlike our superfruit competitors, you're getting all the promised health benefits of the Noni fruit when you drink Tahitian Noni® Bioactive Beverages™.".

Tahitian Noni Challenge Remains Unanswered

Npros.com | 4/8/2010

Tahitian Noni International (TNI) announced that five weeks after issuing a challenge to the entire network marketing industry, not one superfruit company has responded. Tahitian Noni International believes that no other product in the industry will measure up to Tahitian Noni Bioactive Beverages, so they have offered $250,000 to any network marketing company that can prove its signature product has all of the same qualities in Tahitian Noni.

Tahitian Noni® Original contains over 150 bioactive compounds -- including 12 unique iridoids -- that deliver a multiplicity of benefits to the human body. "We are supremely confident that no other network marketing product in the world comes close to the criteria listed above," stated Kelly Olsen, founder and member of the Board of Directors of Tahitian Noni International. "Tahitian Noni Original not only meets the requirements, it exceeds them."

Adaptogenic Properties of Tahitian Noni Bioactive Beverages Revealed

Bioactive Compounds in Noni Make It a World-Class Adaptogen

Provo, UT (Vocus/PRWEB ) April 2, 2010 -- Tahitian Noni® International (TNI) have revealed that the noni fruit is also a world-class adaptogen. An adaptogen is a plant that enhances the overall ability of the body to adapt to stress. Noni assists resistance to a broad range of negative physical, chemical, and biological stressors. It has a normalizing effect on the body that targets imbalances without affecting properly functioning systems. Noni fruit does all this without producing toxic side effects.

One of the most powerful aspects of noni’s bioactive compounds is their ability to help a body adapt, which is why they’re referred to as adaptogens. In simple terms, an adaptogen takes a personalized approach to safely benefit the health and function of a body’s systems. These compounds help living things sustain a natural, healthy balance.

Dozens of scientific studies show the adaptogenic effects of noni on both plant and animal systems. For example, strawberry plants produce more, larger, and sweeter fruit when noni is applied to their leaves. Calves thrive when noni is included in their feed. And most importantly, people who consume noni every day experience enhanced immunity, increased energy and endurance, maintained HDL cholesterol levels, and support for a healthy heart.

As adaptogens, Tahitian Noni Bioactive Beverages™ offer an impressive range of non-specific benefits including:

Supports the immune system Protects DNA Promotes joint health Increases energy & endurance Helps maintain healthy circulatory system Helps maintain healthy HDL cholesterol

John Wadsworth, president of Tahitian Noni explained, “Noni is different from all other superfruits like mangosteen, açaí, or gac, because it contains iridoids and other bioactive compounds, and has now been proven to be a world-class adaptogen.”

Tahitian Noni Extra Released With 16 Different Iridoids

Npros.com | 3/23/2010

Tahitian Noni International (TNI) announced the introduction of Tahitian Noni® Extra(TM)- a new bioactive beverage that provides the broadest range of iridoids of any Tahitian Noni® product - with 16 different iridoids.

Age, stress, and extreme physical activity take a toll on the body. Tahitian Noni Extra delivers a potent blend of noni, blueberry, and olive iridoids that boosts energy and endurance, supports joint health, aids recovery, promotes heart health, enhances the immune system, and helps protect against oxidative stress. Extra is ideal for people with advanced needs and provides 60 mg of iridoids per 60 ml serving.

Noni, blueberries, and olives all contain powerful bioactive compounds that posses a wide range of potential health benefits. Chief among these compounds are iridoids, which have been studied for over 50 years and include a broad range of research. The combination of these 16 different iridoids makes Extra one of the most powerful bioactive beverages available today. And unlike flavonoids or carotenoids in so-called "superfruit" juices, iridoids are extremely heat and time stable. The iridoids in Tahitian Noni® bioactive beverages have been shown to retain their potency and bioactivity long after processing, pasteurization, and storage.

Tahitian Noni Extra is loaded with over 150 phytonutrients that also make it a powerful adaptogen. Adaptogens take a personalized approach to safely benefit the health and function of your body's systems. These compounds help living things maintain a natural, healthy balance.

"This new bioactive beverage could possibly be the healthiest drink on earth," stated Jeff Wasden, vice president of Global Marketing for Tahitian Noni International.

Tahitian Noni paid $50,500 to the California Women's Law Center, a Los Angeles-based women's civil rights group, and its executive director, Katherine Lee Buckland, to settle a lawsuit alleging violations of California's health and safety codes and other consumer protection laws relating to unlawful competition and false advertising.

Tahitian Noni, in its settlement, agreed to add warning labels to its product -- the Tahiti Trim Plan 40 Body Balance Cream -- that states it contains progesterone, "a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer" and should only be used with a physician's advice.

According the National Cancer Institute, a large clinical trial published in 2002 showed that hormone replacement therapy (a combination of the hormones estrogen and progesterone) increased women's risk of developing breast cancer and heart disease.

Noni, an indigenous plant of South Pacific used in Polynesian folk medicine for more than 2,000 years, may lower total cholesterol and triglycerides in adult smokers with elevated cholesterol levels. Smokers were chosen because they tend to have higher total cholesterol levels and are at higher risk for heart disease than nonsmokers, according to the American Heart Association. After drinking 1-4 ounces of noni juice daily, drinkers' average total cholesterol dropped from 235.2 milligrams to 190.2, and average triglyceride levels declined from 242.5 milligrams to 193.5. Tahitian Noni Reaches Settlement with Xango

Daily Herald | 5/12/2006

Tahitian Noni, XanGo settle dispute over juice A three-year legal dispute over intellectual property rights to XanGo's flagship mangosteen juice supplement has been settled.

Details weren't available as the settlement agreement reached Thursday between Tahitian Noni International Inc. of Provo and XanGo LLC of Lehi was confidential, and all court documents concerning the dispute are sealed.

Tahitian Noni sued XanGo and several of its top executives in February 2003 in 4th District Court in Provo, alleging the executives stole Tahitian Noni's concept for a mangosteen-based supplement while they were employed by the Provo company's parent, Morinda Co.

The lawsuit also claimed Morinda has exclusive intellectual property rights to XanGo's juice supplement and sought a constructive trust be imposed on all of XanGo's assets, business opportunities, benefits and profits.

But XanGo disputed Tahitian Noni's allegations in a countersuit. Aaron Garrity, XanGo's president and chief operating officer, in a previous interview with the Daily Herald said the idea for the business took root when Joe Morton, one of XanGo's founders, stumbled on the mangosteen fruit at a restaurant in Malaysia and found numerous scientific reports that supported the health benefits of the tropical fruit.
